Changes to your Barclays ‘Add a Pack’ terms and conditions

As well as the changes to your mobile and gadget insurance below, from 21 April 2021 there will also be a few changes to your ‘Add a Pack’ terms and conditions

  • If Barclays needs to cancel your pack, they’ll give you 30 calendar days’ notice – rather than the two months’ notice they’d have given you before
  • You or your partner’s dependent children will no longer need to be in full-time education to be covered under your pack, as long as they’re under 23 and living with you

How your cover is changing

Gadget claim limits

Previously, you’d have been able to make unlimited claims for accidental damage or breakdown of gadgets, and up to four claims for loss or theft in any 12-month period. From 21 April 2021, you’ll only be able to make four claims in any 12-month period for loss, theft, accidental damage or breakdown of gadgets.

Unauthorised calls made from your mobile phone will no longer be covered for Tech Pack.

How your cover is changing

Screen repair

If your mobile phone screen breaks, you’ll only need to pay an excess of £29 to have it fixed.

Excess amounts

New tiered excess amounts mean you’ll pay £29 for mobile phone screen repair and £49 for all other mobile phone and gadget repairs.

Previously you would have paid £75 excess for a replacement device – this will increase to £99.

Sat navs and cameras

Sat navs and cameras will no longer be covered (including video and digital cameras). If you’d previously registered these devices, you won’t be able to claim for them from 21 April 2021.

Damage and breakdown

If your device gets damaged or breaks, you may be offered the option to repair your device and to choose from our list of walk-in repair shops or arrange for an approved technician to come to your home to fix it. In most cases, you can choose which option you’d prefer when you make your claim, but both options might not be available for all locations and devices.

You’ll need to be living in the UK for at least 183 days of the year to be covered by the insurance included with your pack.
